Territory Manager - Dog Walking / Cat Sitting Business

MixyPaws provides premium dog walking and pet sitting services across Manhattan. We help pet owners give their furry family members a fantastic quality of life in the urban jungle.

We are looking for a like-minded Territory Manager to oversee a section of our pet care business in Manhattan. This role manages and dispatches a pet care team, provides client support and completes business development projects. You will report directly to the business’s General Manager and must be equally comfortable and skilled in client relations, animal handling and using technology.

Responsibilities:

1. Ensure Exceptional Pet Care Services:

  • Manage a team of 10-15 dog walkers and multiple senior walkers, fostering a culture of excellence in pet care.
  • Oversee daily scheduling, optimize routes, and coordinate schedule changes to ensure efficient and timely service delivery.
  • Provide spot walking coverage as needed to maintain service continuity.
  • Maintain a high level of client satisfaction by conducting introductory meetings, resolving complaints promptly, and soliciting feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Prepare accurate and timely invoices, resolve billing questions or disputes.

2. Team Development and Management:

  • Coordinate comprehensive training programs for new dog walkers, setting clear job expectations and cultivating a positive team culture.
  • Support field managers in their role by providing guidance, setting agendas, and addressing any issues that arise.
  • Foster staff retention and engagement through effective communication, addressing concerns, timely evaluations/feedback, and by promoting a positive work environment.
  • Assist with tasks such as recruitment, interviews, onboarding, and terminations.

3. Business Operations Support:

  • Assist with new client inquiries, qualifying leads, and coordinating introductory meetings with the appropriate territory manager.
  • Client Relations. Improve relationships, explain services, answer questions, resolve concerns or disputes.
  • Provide weekend/evening management coverage and fill in for other Territory Managers as needed.
  • Work with General Manager on special projects
