Job Description

Studio Corbeau is a full-service boutique design firm focused on high-end commercial and residential projects across the country. We are growing and looking to add an eager and ambitious interior designer that has a positive attitude, sense of humor, and amazing work ethic. This designer will be passionate about design, detail-oriented, and ideally will have some experience as a junior designer at another firm.

As an interior designer, you will work closely with the Principal Designer and Studio Director, to support in the design and execution of large commercial retail projects, as well as, high-end residential interior design projects. This role directly reports into the Studio Director.

This position will be a full-time role that requires on-site attendance in our West Hollywood office. We anticipate this role to continue to grow into a senior position, so we are looking for a true leader who is ready for the next step in their career.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build technical Sketchup models for all new store locations from site survey documents and Matterport
  • Develop conceptual design & space planning with an understanding of retail spaces
  • Develop design presentations for each design phase of every project
  • Source & build finish and material libraries/schedules per project
  • Source furniture, fixtures, & props for photoshoots
  • Build & maintain fixture libraries per project
  • Develop drawing sets and analyze shop drawings by millworker to ensure design intent is achieved
  • Design custom cabinetry & furniture, as needed per project
  • Support in training and managing any design interns by providing daily direction and giving design feedback
  • Review and redline architectural plans with a consistent level of detail
  • Manage client communication via daily emails, weekly conference calls, and in-person site visits
  • Manage vendor relationships on a daily basis
  • Work in tandem with our construction management team to ensure all design deadlines are being met, as well as, all approvals and client communication is recorded in our project management tool

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Excellent technical skills using SketchUp
  • Working knowledge of construction documents
  • Ability to read construction documents & revise design files
  • Advanced written skills and ability to communicate effectively with clients and broader Studio Corbeau team
  • Strong work ethic
  • Ability to think critically, problem solve, take initiative and work independently with a sense of urgency
  • Rendering skills are a plus, but not required

Program and Software Requirements:

  • Proficient in SketchUp
  • Experience with AutoCAD is a plus
  • MacOS system
  • Adobe Creative Suite with focus on Photoshop & Indesign
  • Familiarity with Canva & Project Management tools
  • Microsoft Office with focus on Excel & Powerpoint
  • Google Drive (Cloud-based file hosting and documents)
  • Dropbox (Cloud-based file hosting)
