Position Title: Product Marketing Specialist

Reports To: Product Marketing Director

Location: Tempe, Phoenix or Riverside, California

STQ Partners are once again teaming up with a well-established and leading manufacturer of fluid control products.

With over 40 years of experience, this business specialises in engineered products (pumps, compressors, dampeners etc), back pressure valves, and spill containment systems for various industries and applications.

A Product Specialist collaborates with team members to ensure excellent product delivery. They are experts in a series of products and develop sales, price, and profitability strategies, recommend improvements, increase revenue, and identify opportunities.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Support the sales team. Responsibilities include quoting, consulting factory, specialty, and custom pricing; collaborate with Engineering and Sourcing. Provide web leads, CRM updates, and various reporting.
  • Provide customer support, fulfilling requests for quotes/drawings, customer web support, and creating web user accounts.
  • Product support in company ERP, including item maintenance, maintenance kitting, and pricing; and manage series pricing platforms.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor products to ensure the product's marketability.
  • Communications include copywriting/editing, technical literature, and collaboration with the Marketing and Creative Specialist to manage source files and document versions.
  • Website/System Maintenance for company websites. Liaison with Sales, Marketing, and Advantage for changes, updates, and enhancements; maintain online tools, programs, and databases. This includes developing and maintaining the online store.
  • Maintain sustainable margin levels through price increases and cost savings, as well as working with sales on discount structure.
  • Gather critical product knowledge via ERP, manuals, onsite work, surveys, and internal communication to allow for working NPD and product lifecycle decisions.
  • Provide guidance and oversee contractors' activities on business and functional requirements.
  • Provide backup for other positions as necessary and fulfill any other tasks as requested and assigned by management.

  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse.

  • Communicate to perform essential functions.
  • Use of computer, software, and office machines.

Experience and Training

Required:

  • High-level experience with all Windows and Microsoft Office systems.
  • Back-end website experience, including use of Figma, website online shop management, and e-configurator management.
  • Proficient in Excel, including pivot tables.
  • Proficient in SQL database usage.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with others and contribute to a positive team environment.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.

Desirable:

  • Employment in industrial manufacturing.
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
  • Previous Product Specialist experience.
