Construction Inspector

Location: Phoenix, AZ

Pay: $85,000+ (depending on experience)

Insight Global is looking for a Construction Inspector to join a consulting engineering firm in Phoenix, AZ. This individual will be the Construction Inspector for major construction initiatives primarily in the Phoenix Metro Area. This individual will serve as a critical construction administrative team member and oversee the installation and functionality of MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) systems. They will serve as the eyes and ears of the design team on the construction site to make sure that plans are being tested and developed properly. The majority of their day will be spent on the construction site conducting electrical and mechanical inspections; however, a large part of the role will be documentation, preparing detailed reports on construction progress, and interacting with the firm's project team members from all disciplines.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • MEP construction background (must be commercial or industrial, NO residential)
  • Certification as a Commercial Electrical Inspector and/or Commercial Mechanical Inspector. If not currently certified, you will be required to obtain both certifications post-employment (client will pay for classes and certifications)
  • Working knowledge of acceptable construction standards for mechanical, plumbing and/or electrical systems
  • Experience in working with Building Automation Systems (BAS) to be able to understand graphical interfaces and programming intent as well as installation practices for BAS infrastructure
  • Experience coordinating and administering pre-construction and construction meetings
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to walk construction sites, climb ladders, etc.

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Working knowledge of Bluebeam and Procore
  • Ability to apply logic and reasoning to assist with troubleshooting efforts for clients and/or contractors where needed
  • Experience creating and/or working with software used for commissioning of projects for new and existing buildings
  • Certification as a Commissioning Services Provider
  • Experience developing the OPR commissioning plan
