Job Description

Position Title: Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Administrator

Program: BuildLACCD – Los Angeles Community College District

Position Overview:

The VDC Administrator plays a critical role in supporting the implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes across the BuildLACCD program. Working under the direction of the BIM Manager and in close coordination with the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD), this position ensures that digital construction technologies are effectively utilized to enhance project delivery, document control, and construction coordination efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

Bluebeam:

  • Manage Bluebeam Studio Sessions for collaboration and document review.
  • Provide Bluebeam training and technical support to project teams.

ProjectWise:

  • Administer the ProjectWise document management system, including user access and file organization.
  • Upload/download project documents and maintain version control.
  • Deliver training and generate monthly usage and compliance reports.
  • Research and retrieve data at the request of the District and PMO.
  • Review DSA, Construction Documents (CD), As-Built, and Redline drawings for completeness.

Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC):

  • Review CAD/BIM As-Built drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards.
  • Conduct drawing set evaluations to ensure quality and compliance.

Geographic Information Systems (GIS):

  • Provide technical support for ArcGIS and related systems as needed.

Communication & Coordination:

  • Maintain regular communication with college teams via phone and email to track deliverables.
  • Provide weekly status reports to the Program Management Office (PMO).

Site Support & Travel:

  • Visit college campuses as requested to support BIM implementation and coordination.
  • Interface directly with college project teams.

BIM & Modeling:

  • Create or modify Revit BIM models as requested by the College Project Teams (CPT) and PMO.
  • Deliver supplemental modeling support as needed.

LiDAR:

  • Provide LiDAR scanning support and assistance as requested.

General Support:

  • Assist college teams, district representatives, and facilities personnel with locating and retrieving project documentation.

Estimated Time Allocation:

  • ProjectWise Administration – 50%
  • Bluebeam Support – 20%
  • General Support – 10%
  • Modeling/BIM Support – 10%
  • Site Visits/Travel – 10%

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
  • (In lieu of a degree, 8 years of relevant experience may be considered.)
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Project Engineer, VDC Coordinator, or in a similar technical support role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Well-rounded experience collaborating with design and construction teams.
  • Proficiency in BIM and design tools including Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam.
  • Experience supporting project closeout and document control processes.
