About Company

At this disruptive EV company, our team is focused on designing, integrating, and manufacturing cutting-edge cars that seamlessly blend electric propulsion with advanced intelligence. We thrive on innovation, collaboration, and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the automotive industry.

About Role

We are seeking a Lead Vehicle Engineer or Tech Lead or Vehicle Chief Engineer to lead and execute the integration of key automotive systems, ensuring seamless interaction between powertrain, chassis, body, ADAS, infotainment, and other components. You will play a pivotal role in full-vehicle validation, testing, and homologation while working cross-functionally with subsystems, software, supply chain and manufacturing teams.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of electric vehicles in a fast-paced Silicon Valley startup environment.

Role Description

  • Lead vehicle integration efforts, ensuring mechanical, electrical, thermal, and software systems work harmoniously.
  • Drive homologation and regulatory certification processes to meet safety and performance standards, including FMVSS, EPA, CARB, FCC, IIHS, and so on.
  • Coordinate CAE analysis to support structural, thermal, and other optimizations for vehicle performance and safety.
  • Develop and execute test plans for validation of vehicle performance, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Work closely with manufacturing, supply chain, and program management teams to ensure seamless design-to-production transition.
  • Oversee vehicle architecture development, focusing on ADAS, infotainment, powertrain, and system-level optimization.
  • Collaborate with ADAS engineers to integrate ADAS HW/SW functionalities into vehicle systems.
  • Lead full-vehicle validation, including durability, NVH, EMC, thermal, and crash testing.
  • Identify and resolve vehicle integration challenges through root cause analysis, failure mode assessments, and corrective actions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in vehicle integration, testing, and validation within the automotive industry.
  • Strong expertise in automotive engineering, CAE, homologation, and full-vehicle validation.
  • Hands-on experience with automotive systems integration, including powertrain, chassis, ADAS, infotainment, and thermal management.
  • Proficiency in vehicle testing methodologies and regulatory compliance processes.
  • Deep understanding of automotive manufacturing processes, materials, and supply chain constraints.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience in root cause analysis, FMEA, and issue tracking.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with electric powertrains, battery systems, and high-voltage safety.
  • Familiarity with ADAS system components, ADAS development and validation processes.
  • Knowledge of infotainment, UI/UX, HMI, and in-vehicle networking protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
  • Prior experience in automotive program management, supplier coordination, and prototype development.
  • Background in startup environments or fast-paced product development cycles.
