Job Description
The USG Shoals location is seeking temporary Summer Hires to support plant operations during the summer months. These roles are ideal for college students looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, team-driven environment. Positions are expected to begin in late spring/early summer, with possible flexibility for earlier start dates based on availability.
Summer Hires will be paid $22.00/hour , with no additional benefits provided.
This opportunity gives students the chance to work alongside our Continuous Improvement crew, supporting Project Home-type work that contributes directly to our purpose—to make tomorrow a home for all of us.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Support special projects and improvement initiatives
• Fill in for production operators during vacations
• Assist in warehouse operations
• Maintain clean and organized work areas
• Perform general housekeeping and other related tasks
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Must be 18 years of age or older and successfully complete USG’s pre-employment screening
• Must be the child or grandchild of an active USG employee (other family members and employee referrals must be approve by the plant manager.)
• Must be enrolled in college for the Fall 2025 semester
• Willing and able to work safely in a manufacturing setting and follow all safety protocols
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Self-motivated with a focus on results and continuous improvement
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization in all work areas
Candidates who demonstrate strong performance in safety, attendance, and work ethic may be considered for future full-time opportunities within the Shoals plant or elsewhere in the USG network.
Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
