Job Description

We are seeking candidates for the position of Senior Controller for one of our mortgage banking clients. In this role you will be responsible for the oversight and direction of the financial activities of the company. Basic Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and coordinate all accounting operational functions
• Manage the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
• Complete monthly bank account reconciliation
• Coordinate and prepare internal and external financial statements
• Coordinate activities of external auditors
• Provide management with information vital to the decision-making process
• Evaluate accounting and internal control systems
• Evaluate the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed
• Oversee regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance
• Hire, train and retain skilled accounting staff
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Strong finance-based analytical skills
• 7-10 years of finance experience with a minimum of three years in a leadership role
• Bachelors Degree in Accounting required
• Experience in a Senior Financial Role at a Mortgage Company, Insurance Company Bank, Financial Services Company or Credit Union is strongly preferred
