Masis Professional Group is hiring for direct placement opportunities. We are assisting our client in searching for a Senior Buyer.

Job Summary of the Senior Buyer:

The Senior Buyer role is part of the purchasing team. The team is responsible for selecting and purchasing quality products for the business. The Senior Buyer role is responsible for a subset of those parts. The responsibilities will include processing purchase orders, negotiating with suppliers, tracking order delivery, and ensuring supplier quality is maintained.

The Senior Buyer will work cross functionally with various departments to forecast the needs of the business and make purchase decisions based on demand.

The Senior Buyer should be analytically minded and possess excellent negotiating skills to secure best prices and terms.

Essential Functions of the Senior Buyer:

  • Analyze inventory levels and forecasts to properly source sales and manufacturing demand
  • Obtain quotations, examine bids and negotiate price
  • Interact with suppliers to secure both on-time delivery and the best market price
  • Handle sensitive or classified materials and information in confidence
  • Conduct quarterly supplier reviews
  • Maintain procurement records, reports and metrics
  • Approve invoices for payment
  • Network and negotiate with suppliers for competitive pricing
  • Prepare clear and concise reports and correspondence.
  • Maintain and handle issues involving HTS and USMCA
  • Manage foreign import/export via containers and LCL
  • Liaise with Accounts Payable to ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices
  • Performs other duties as necessitated by company or team needs

Qualifications of the Senior Buyer:

  • Associate degree in business or supply chain related field with 5 years purchasing experience.
  • Strong work ethic, ability to work independently, as a team member and a team leader
  • Strong oral & written communication skills, ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Flexible with willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Professional attitude with ability to prioritize and multi-task with attention to detail.
  • Experience in working in an ERP/MRP environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Mechanical knowledge preferred.
  • Able to establish and maintain healthy working relationships
