Position Overview:We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and licensed School Social Worker to join our team full-time starting July 28, 2025. This position is primarily onsite , reflecting our commitment to in-person student and family engagement; however, candidates with a strong background and experience in virtual service delivery will be considered if an onsite candidate is not found.
The ideal candidate has previously worked in virtual settings, understands its challenges, and is committed to delivering high-quality social work services regardless of the delivery method. Experience navigating both virtual and in-person modalities is essential.
Key Responsibilities:Provide direct social work services to students and families including individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and case management.
Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments and develop intervention plans to support students academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
Collaborate closely with teachers, administrators, families, and community agencies to coordinate supports and resources.
Facilitate family engagement and advocacy to promote positive student outcomes.
Serve as a liaison between the school, home, and community resources, helping to remove barriers to learning.
Participate actively in multidisciplinary teams such as Student Support Teams (SST), Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, and behavioral intervention planning.
Maintain compliance with New Mexico Public Education Department (PED) regulations and documentation requirements.
Track and report data related to social work services and student outcomes.
Contribute to a positive school climate by promoting social-emotional learning initiatives and fostering an inclusive environment.
Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) or equivalent from an accredited institution.
Current, valid New Mexico social work license.
Active certification or licensure from the New Mexico Public Education Department (PED) as a School Social Worker.
Prior experience providing virtual social work services, with a clear understanding of the advantages and challenges. Candidates without virtual experience will not be considered.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport with students, families, and staff.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Commitment to cultural competence and understanding of the unique needs of diverse student populations.
Full-time, Monday through Friday
On-site presence preferred to maximize student and family engagement; virtual service delivery will be considered only if a qualified onsite candidate is not available.
