Job Description

We are currently representing one of the most established and reputable middle market private equity shops based in Washington, DC as they look to grow their team at the associate level later this year. The team has just shy of $7 billion in AUM and have made over 80 platform investments since inception in the mid 90s. They invest across a diverse set of industries and each private equity associate is put on a platform investment once they join to gain invaluable experience very early on.

Private Equity Associate Responsibilities:

• Help drive all stages of the investment process, including sourcing, diligence, structuring, and portfolio management, with a focus on companies in the consumer space.
• Collaborate closely with the senior leadership team members to analyze and execute transactions.
• Develop and maintain industry relationships to generate proprietary deal flow
• Help lead deal-related analysis, financial modeling, and presentations for investment committee review.

Private Equity Associate Qualifications:

• Top-tier college degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or Accounting is preferred but not required
• Two to three years of investment banking experience (consumer, industrials, & business services experience preferred)
• Superior modeling, problem-solving, analytical, and research skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills, including ability to interact thoughtfully with portfolio company management teams
• Ability to work independently, multi-task, and meet demanding deadlines
• Ties to the Southeast (specifically Washington, DC)
