Job Title: Practice Support Assistant

Location: Downtown Chicago, IL (Hybrid)

Industry: Legal Services

Pay: $45,000 – $55,000 annually

Job Description:

The Practice Support Assistant will provide a range of administrative and clerical support services to legal staff. Responsibilities include preparing mailings, assisting with legal documentation processes, maintaining records, and supporting other administrative functions. This role is ideal for someone looking to work in a professional legal environment, with some flexibility for remote work after an initial onsite training period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist attorneys and support staff with general clerical tasks such as document preparation, scheduling, and expense tracking
  • Handle mailroom duties including incoming/outgoing mail, shipping labels, and preparation of packages
  • Organize and maintain client files and administrative records
  • Prepare closing documents and coordinate the completion of legal packets
  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite to draft, edit, and format documents
  • Maintain accuracy and confidentiality in all administrative duties
  • Participate in ongoing training and apply firm-wide resources and procedures
  • Provide friendly and professional support to clients and visitors when needed

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred
  • At least 1 year of administrative or legal office experience preferred (entry-level candidates with internship or school experience encouraged to apply)
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Professional demeanor with strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage responsibilities under tight deadlines
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
