Shift: 7 am - 3:30 pm About the Unit: The Johns Hopkins Hospital's Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (PCICU) is a 12-bed unit providing comprehensive care for critically ill cardiac patients from birth through early adulthood. Common diagnoses include complex congenital heart disease, acquired heart disease, heart failure, and dysrhythmias. Treatments include medical and surgical management, ECMO, ventricular assist devices, and transplantation. Role of Clinical Technicians: At Johns Hopkins, Clinical Technicians provide highly skilled, compassionate, patient- and family-centered care as part of the healthcare team. Ongoing education ensures technicians perform at the highest level of their certification and scope of practice. During your first year, you will attend eight days of off-unit training for professional development.
