Paralegal Role:
The Paralegal acts as the main point of contact, addressing routine and complex inquiries regarding department activities and operations.
Screen and direct phone calls and visitors to the appropriate personnel, and takes messages when necessary.
Assists in coordinating and tracking pending assignments within the Legal Management System, managing requests for information from internal and external contacts, and scheduling appointments.
Aids in investigating matters, processing outside counsel invoices for payment, assisting attorneys with contract reviews, and supporting pending litigation as needed.
Provide assistance with open record requests.
Manage the coordination and organization of meetings, luncheons, seminars, conferences, and travel arrangements.
Prepare travel and expense documentation, meeting agendas, marketing materials, and reserves rooms and facilities.
Arrange food services and prepares or distribute meeting minutes when required.
Conduct legal research as needed.
Prepare outgoing communications, including mail, correspondence, emails, and faxes.
Sort and distribute incoming mail, orders and maintains supplies, and arranges for the maintenance and repair of equipment.
Paralegal Background Profile:
Legal Secretary or Paralegal Certification
Bachelors degree a plus
Must be familiar with legal terminology and legal citation references
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
Demonstrate the ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure
Ability to utilize job-related software
Work autonomously with minimal supervision
Communicate clearly and effectively
