We are currently seeking an On-Site Owner/Operator and equity partner for a Goddard School in a prime location in Nassau County, NY. The ideal candidate will have extensive leadership experience in education or business or both. She/he must be mission-driven and inspired to build a strong, unique and world-class School that will serve as the hub of the community for generations.

The ideal candidate must possess an entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to build the school community from the ground up. A natural salesperson who possesses a clear understanding of superior customer service, she/he is people-oriented with strong social-emotional and communication skills. She/He must have proven experience building trust and resolving conflict with many different stakeholders (parents, children, faculty, admin, the franchise). Comfortable managing every aspect of business – sales, customer service, communications, marketing, human resources, bookkeeping, payroll, and events planning - she/he must also have a passion for education and a desire to make a lasting and meaningful impact. She/He will oversee a team of 3-4 Directors, 40 faculty, 200 families, and will need to work with a Regional Director and Goddard Systems Franchise Consultant. The on-site Owner/Operator may earn a base salary with potential for profit sharing and distributions as well as equity in the business. He/She will oversee a team of about 40 faculty, including a School Directors and Assistant Directors, and about 200 families.

Responsibilities : The on-site owner/operator does not have to have experience with all of these responsibilities, but must possess a willingness to learn and capacity to succeed.

  • ·Revenue Generation – engage in community outreach; tour and enroll new families; maximize revenue by establishing a strong reputation for the School and skillfully managing class lists.·
  • Build strong relationships with all key stakeholders including parents, children, faculty, admin and Goddard Systems, and resolving conflict effectively as needed.·
  • Create and maintain an inspiring school culture which supports all stakeholders.·
  • Support the development of a welcoming and conducive workplace and help mediate conflict among employees as needed.·
  • Support recruitment, hiring, onboarding and training; document rules and regulations, maintain employee handbook, communicate information to employees.·
  • Coordinate employee benefits including healthcare, dental, vision and 401(k).·
  • Facilitate internal communications such as e-mails, internal documentation, and company memos. Facilitate external communication using various media channels such as Facebook and Instagram; maintain the school’s website and social media presence.·Oversee, plan and administer special events for the School.·
  • Oversee building maintenance and security· Ensure all requirements are met to maintain childcare license and good standing with Goddard Quality Assurance, the local health and fire departments.·
  • Controlling expenses and overseeing financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and daily financial entries and reconciliations. Perform daily accounting tasks such as monthly financial reporting, general ledger entries, and record payments and adjustments. Processing, verifying and reconciling invoices, monitoring expenses, and keeping a record of it for tax purposes.·
  • Process payroll, issue and distribute paychecks, manage direct deposits, benefits withholding, payroll deductions, garnishments and levies, flexible spending accounts, federal and state payroll summaries, W-2s, wage and hour law compliance, paid leave, vacation and sick time reporting.·Oversee all systems of accountability and support implementation.
