Location : 4 days In-office Mount Prospect, IL

KEY ROLE

To ensure full compliance with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and other governmental agency requirements.

Customs permit holder position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• This position’s primary responsibility is to ensure the Brokerage Operations Team, and our customers have your support in the classification of their products, that the rules and regulations such as ADD/CVD and other government agencies are adhered to.
• Be the key point of contact for all import compliance and government inquiries or notifications relating to compliance issues
• Classify goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule
• Entry-Writing A-Z and ability to jump in to assist co-workers with their entries as well
• On-board new brokerage clients
• Develop new procedures needed for full and ongoing compliance
• Manage customs issues including but not limited to classification, and country of origin
• Oversee responses to Customs and Border Protection for rulings, protests and internal advice
• Manage all post entries to final liquidation of entries
• Attend as many NCBFAA and CCBFA seminars as schedule allows
• Keep current with trade bulletins and best practices
• Audit and Verify Customs Entry Filings
• Meet Continuing Broker Education requirements
• As a true team player, this position will require effective oversight and training of the Brokerage Operations staff as needed

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

• Minimum 3-5 years licensed Customs Broker experience
• Experience with food and alcohol preferred
• Cargowise
• Organised and have attention to detail
• Strong classification and regulatory knowledge
• Protest and Post Summary Correction experience
