INVESTMENT BANKING ANALYST – DEBT CAPITAL MARKETS

Analyst Job Description:
We are seeking a top tier candidate to join our deal team in the San Francisco office to participate heavily in transaction execution and interface with investment professionals throughout North America. The Analyst will assist in all aspects of client engagements, including transaction pre-screening and due diligence, industry research, financial modeling, drafting client confidential information memorandums and supporting marketing materials, prospective lender/investor marketing, and other execution efforts. The Analyst will also have the unique opportunity to participate in and support new client marketing and business development initiatives, as well as work closely with C-suite executives (CEOs, CFOs, etc) to structure and model financial solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
· Perform preliminary credit and collateral analysis of new transaction opportunities
· Identify, understand and incorporate value-added, accurate research findings on industry information, key credit and deal metrics to support BizCap business objectives
· Participate in financial, collateral and business due diligence
· Prepare financial models to evaluate and analyze cash flows and balance sheet criteria to evaluate credit risks of a transaction
· Collaborate in the development of Investment Banking documents and marketing materials for BizCap mandates
· Create and populate virtual data rooms with accurate and current information
· Maintain CRM/database records meticulously
· Participate in new client pitch meetings and calls with potential capital providers
· Handle majority of outgoing calls related to prospective transactions, including follow-up and gathering of market intelligence
· Assist with maintaining and developing strong relationships with industry professionals, including commercial banks, PE firms, institutional lenders, accountants, lawyers, etc.
· Participate in industry events (when appropriate) to develop and nurture business relationships
Prerequisites:
· Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field with strong academic record

· 1+ years of relevant credit experience within a commercial bank, investment bank, institutional lender is required, but candidates with a CPA or transaction advisory background will also be strongly considered
· Completion of an analyst training program is a plus
· Strong financial analysis and project/time-management skills
· Must be extremely detailed and process-oriented
· Entrepreneurial spirit with excellent communication and presentation skills
· Solid MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other technical skills required
Compensation:
Base salary + performance-based bonus. Salary is commensurate with experience; additional compensation is discretionary, based on company and individual performance. Full medical benefits and matching 401K plan. Flexible time off plan.
