Job Description

Main responsibilities will be to support logistics and customs requirements for the company. Goal is to optimize efficiency, minimize the time and costs of moving raw materials, components and finished products between suppliers and the company production plants as well as the group's service centers. (Canada, United States, Mexico, China).

TRANSPORT

• Assist with arranging and tracking domestic and international shipments
• Propose actions to optimize supply chain logistics to minimize costs and logistical delays;
• Request bids for one-time needs not covered by agreements;
• Support transport consolidations with suppliers and the company production sites;
• Provide assistance to buyers for the overseas transport of parts from China (validation of container quality, management of freight forwarders, management of road or rail transport, return of containers within the prescribed time) as required;
• Review transportation invoices;
• Assist with reports, such as monthly cost information and carrier scorecards

CUSTOMS

• Monitor and manage daily import process
• Review customs documents prepared by manufacturing sites and suppliers, provide support as needed;
• Ensure validity and keep HS and country of origin codes up to date in ERP system;
• Assign HTS codes as required
• Ensure the validity of our suppliers' certificates of origin;
• Ensure customs compliance with the various authorities;
• Be the point of contact with customs broker;
• Be a customs compliance resource for Canadian, Mexican and U.S. operations;
• Assist with reports related to customs, duty etc.

Requirements

• Trade Compliance experience in HTS coding required
• 5 years of experience in the manufacturing and transport logistics sector.
