Developer Experience Principal Engineer
ISG TechOps team includes DevSecOps, LabOps and services, and IT software and tools as well as Strategy and Transformation. We are seeking a passionate and skilled team of individuals who will focus on improving developer workflows and identifying opportunities to enhance the overall developer experience at scale. This team will work within our established Scrum framework and leverage existing tools to drive meaningful improvements and standardization of SDLC for our engineering organization.

What you’ll achieve
As a Developer Experience (DevEx) principal engineer, you will focus on improving the overall experience of developers within the Infrastructure Solutions organization. This role is multifaceted and includes several key responsibilities:
· Tooling and Automation : Ensuring that developers have access to the best tools and automation processes. This includes maintaining and improving CI/CD pipelines, build automation, and other development tools.
· Workflow Optimization : Analyzing current developer workflows to identify friction points and areas for improvement. This involves mapping workflows and developing strategies to streamline processes.
· Collaboration : Working closely with development teams to understand their challenges and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
· Training and Support : Provide training and support to developers on best practices and new tools or processes.
· Metrics and Reporting: Establishing metrics to measure the impact of improvements and reporting progress to stakeholders.
· Innovation: Staying updated with industry trends and best practices to bring innovative solutions to the team.
You will:
Develop plans for improving developer experience across different time horizons:
• Address current pain points and quick wins. Implement medium-term strategies to enhance workflows and tools. Plan for long-term improvements and innovations to sustain and advance developer productivity.
• KPI Analysis: Utilize available resources and tools to study both agile team metrics and developer-specific KPIs, including leading and lagging indicators, to drive data-informed decisions.
Developer Happiness Measurement: Create a consistent way to measure developer happiness through:
• Qualitative: Discussion-based feedback loops to gather insights and sentiments.
• Quantitative : Happiness scores at the end of sprints or releases to track satisfaction levels.
• Developer Advocacy: They act as advocates for developers, ensuring their needs are met and their work environment is optimized for productivity and satisfaction

Essential Requirements
• 7+ years of experience in roles focused on developer experience, standardizing workflows, DevOps, or SDLC process improvement
• Experience implementing Scrum at Scale methodologies in large-scale, enterprise engineering organizations is a must
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to map, standardize and optimize processes.
• Passion for improving developer experience and productivity.
• Process Efficiency Certifications: Kanban, Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
Compensation: Dell is committed to Fair and Equitable compensation practices. The Base Salary Range for this role is $145,000 to $185,000
