Job Description

Summary:
This role is tailored for an experienced software developer with expertise in COBOL and mainframe technologies, coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. The candidate will design, implement, and manage software programs while mentoring junior developers and ensuring compliance with Agile and IT service management practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and develop complex business systems using COBOL, VSAM, JCL, TSO/ISPF, XPEDITER, FileAid, Changeman, and CICS.
  • Write and optimize complex SQL and PL/SQL queries in a DB2 environment.
  • Implement Agile/Scrum methodologies and utilize tools such as VersionOne and ServiceNow for project management and IT service management.
  • Evaluate network firewalls and implement secure enclaves to protect servers and databases.
  • Analyze customer requirements, design technical solutions, and lead the implementation process.
  • Develop and manage security certificates for secure data transmission between systems.
  • Mentor and lead development teams on project deliverables, ensuring quality assurance.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent experience with an additional 4 years in the absence of a related degree).
  • 8 12 years of relevant experience in software development with a focus on mainframe systems.
  • Expertise in COBOL, VSAM, JCL, CICS, DB2, and Agile/Scrum processes.
  • Familiarity with IT service management tools (e.g., ServiceNow) and Agile tools (e.g., VersionOne).
  • Strong analytical, project management, and mentoring skills.
  • Knowledge of network security principles, including firewalls and secure transmission protocols.
  • Special credentials or certifications may be required depending on the specific task order
