Location: Fresno, CA (corporate office) Relocation Package Offered

Salary Range: $125,000 - $155,000/year

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Estimator to lead our Estimating Department. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of estimating, budgeting, and subcontractor relations, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of bids and project budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, train, and manage a team of Estimators and Quantity Surveyors.
  • Develop and execute estimating strategies, ensuring competitive and accurate project bids.
  • Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and industry partners.
  • Review legal and financial aspects of RFPs and bid documents, escalating concerns when necessary.
  • Oversee bid-day activities, including securing bid documents, bonds, and insurance requirements.
  • Analyze bid-to-award ratios, ensuring continuous improvement in estimating accuracy.
  • Collaborate with project acquisition teams to align estimates with company objectives.
  • Stay updated on construction trends, costs, and best practices to enhance department efficiency.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 10+ years of experience in construction estimating, with a proven track record in leadership.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction materials, labor costs, and project management .
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in preparing accurate estimates.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills for subcontractor and client interactions.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and cost coding structures .
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting tight deadlines.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary: $125,000 - $155,000/year, plus discretionary bonuses.
  • Profit Sharing: Through John Hancock with discretionary matching (4% of total annual).
