Summary

The Center Based Family Specialist is responsible for developing a trusting relationship with HS/EHS parents as support and resource person.

Duties

This position will coordinate with the classroom team to implement the growing 0-5 curriculum and other activities that will enhance the parent / child relationship. This person reinforces the crucial role of parents as the primary educator of their children; ensures that all health and other identified needs of children and their families are met; assumes a lead role in implementing social service coordination by providing on-going comprehensive support and case management services to assigned families that promote positive family development / self-sufficiency and social competency; support the families in obtaining and maintaining child care subsidy; assumes a lead role in assuring parent involvement through opportunities that foster parent and family growth; and serves as a positive liaison to other community agencies, providing assistance and guidance to families.

Requirements

• Minimum educational requirement of an Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Early Childhood, Social Work or a related field
• Bilingual Spanish Required
