Responsible for installation, inspection, repairs, and regular maintenance of medical equipment.

- Installation, calibration, inspection, maintenance, performance verification, and repair of clinical applied electronic/mechanical equipment. Repair, inspections and installations as assigned by supervisor.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvements of services/systems and processes.
- Maintain documentation on all equipment, inspections, equipment repairs and failures. Make recommendations on new equipment and testing procedures to the supervisor.
- Assist, manage and monitor third-party maintenance and repairs as assigned.
- Report outcome of preventative maintenance action and make recommendations to department supervisor concerning improvements.
- May be asked to provide in-service education to staff as requested on the use of equipment.
- Maintain clinical equipment at the highest standard possible.
- Act in accordance with the established mission, vision, and values.
- Abide by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Maintain effective communication and professional working relationships with patients/clients and their representatives, team members, contractors, physicians, peers, outside agencies, and the public.

Minimum Qualifications : Required Education and Experience - Electronics Associate degree or Biomedical Equipment Technician certification. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
- 1-3 years experience in repair and maintenance of medical equipment.
Required License/Certifications/Registrations Preferred Qualifications: Preferred Education and Experience - Several years of experience in a Medical Center Clinical Engineering environment.
Preferred License/Certifications/Registrations - Member of AAMI (Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation) is favorable.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Knowledge of electronic theory, technology and test equipment.
- Knowledge of basic anatomy, physiology and medical terminology as applied to use of biomedical equipment.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs, performing inspections and data bases for inventory control. Ability to run diagnostic programs.
- Knowledge of Joint Commission (JC) and State standards as they relate to Clinical Engineering.
- Knowledge in testing electronic equipment, electronic circuitry and technical aspects of the operation, repair and maintenance of electronic equipment.
- Knowledge of infectious diseases.

- Medium Work: Occasionally exerting up to 50 lbs - constantly exerting up to 10 lbs. 26-50% of the day may be standing or walking.
